Bubbles, Booze, Bombs and Bastards

A speaker at the very first OZTeK – held at Sydney’s National Maritime Museum in April 1999 – former Royal Australian Navy Clearance Diver, Larry Digney’s, recently published memoir, , is a riveting account of a career spent in – to quote the foreword to his book, written by the former R.A.N.’s Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Russ Crane, AO, CSM, RAN retired – “one of the harshest and most unforgiving environments on offer in the RAN for employment.”

Having served during one of the world’s most turbulent post-WWII periods, including service in Vietnam, and ultimately retiring from the R.A.N. as a Warrant Officer Clearance Diver, Larry Digney continued to dedicate himself to diving and diving safety.

With an enormous background of experience and knowledge, ranging from Surface Supplied Diving equipment to mixed gas Closed Circuit Rebreathers, his post-Navy experiences are similarly engaging and offer delightful – and very informative – insights into a still emerging aspect of diving in the ‘technical arena’.

A self-published volume – one that’s well worth reading – copies of‘Bubbles, Booze, Bombs and Bastards’, is available by contacting Larry directly via FB Messenger at: https://www.facebook.com/messages/t/100017957201723
